В статье раскрыта сущность уголовного процесса как механизма реализации уголовно правовых норм и баланса публичных интересов и прав личности. Основное внимание уделено ключевым принципам (законность, презумпция невиновности, состязательность и др.), они выступают гарантиями правосудия. Проанализирован смешанный тип российского уголовного процесса и противоречие между состязательностью и установлением объективной истины. Описаны участники процесса, его стадии и важность соблюдения процессуальных гарантий. Отмечена тенденция развития законодательства в сторону демократизации и расширения прав личности, а также актуальность изучения уголовного процесса для науки и практики.

The article examines the essence of criminal proceedings as a mechanism for implementing substantive criminal law norms and balancing public interests with individual rights. Particular attention is paid to key principles (legality, the presumption of innocence, the adversarial system, etc.), which serve as guarantees of justice. The article analyzes the mixed nature of Russian criminal proceedings and the tension between the adversarial principle and the establishment of objective truth. It outlines the participants in the proceedings, the stages of the process, and the importance of adhering to procedural safeguards. The author notes the legislative trend toward democratization and the expansion of individual rights, as well as the significance of studying criminal proceedings for both legal theory and practice.
